"Request permission
to come aboard, Sir." We are
encouraged that so many youth and parents want to become part of our team. We are a year-round program designed to build
skills and positive attitudes in our Youth. We run a boot camp to give the opportunity for more of our area's youth to
join our team. The Upper Marlboro
Young Marines hosts parent/information nights and accept new registrants twice a year. In the meantime, we encourage you to
submit your name, address, and other requested information and you will be added to our waiting list. Those on our waiting
list will receive advance notice of the information nights and will be the first accepted into the program, if qualified. Thank you for your patience and support, keep checking out

RECRUIT INFORMATION
The Young Marines is a youth education and service program
for boys and girls, ages 8 through completion of high school. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical
development of its members. The program focuses on character building, leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Young Marines is the focal
point for the U.S. Marine Corps' youth Drug Demand Reduction efforts. We are not molding Marines so we do not teach weapons,
warfare or tactics but we do wear the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor on our uniforms and take pride in our appearance and conduct. We cannot give your child self-esteem,
no one can, but we can give him or her opportunities to earn it. When something is earned, it has more value and is worth
keeping. The Young Marine program is not a program for couch potatoes, or a baby-sitting service. It is a challenging, exciting
and motivating program that requires commitment to excel.

Live Healthy and Say NO to Drugs Young Marine leadership demonstrates
the ideals of Living Well through many activities that offer opportunities to promote character
building through individual responsibility, teamwork and the mental, moral and physical development of its members. The Young Marine Creed:
- Obey my parents and all others in charge of me whether young or old.
- Keep myself neat at all times without other people telling me to.
- Keep myself
clean in mind by attending the church of my faith.
- Keep my mind alert to learn at school, at home or at play.
- Remember
having self-discipline will enable me to control my body and mind in case of an emergency.
The Young Marine Obligation:
From This day forward, I sincerely promise, I will set an example for all other youth
to follow, and I shall never do anything that would bring disgrace or dishonor upon my God, my Country and its flag, my parents,
myself or the Young Marines. These I will honor and respect in a manner that will reflect credit upon them and myself. Semper
Fidelis (Always Faithful)
