Who can join?	Boys & Girls Ages 8 through High School
What's the cost?	Total application fee is $375*  $100 due at the time of registration  Which covers the cost of: Registration with the National Young Marines Headquarters First overnight encampment Uniform costs are included in the total amount of registration (outlined below). NOTE: Applications & $100 registration fee (money order) may be mailed to address provided on application prior to Open House. You will be contacted via Email once application has been received. No refunds after the first day of boot camp. *(payment arrangements can be made)
I paid my money, do I automatically qualify as a Young Marine?	Just as in the Marine Corps, you must pass qualifications to claim the title of Young Marine. Which includes: A written final Passing a physical fitness test (200 out of a possible 500 points) As well as possessing a sharp appearance & motivated attitude  Without passing all the above, you will remain a recruit.
How long is Boot Camp?	The length & schedule of Boot Camp is left up to the discretion of the Unit Commander depending on the qualifications of the recruits. Ideally scheduled for at least 26 hours Mandatory overnight encampment
How many absences are allowed during Boot Camp?	Allowed two excused (called ahead of time) absences Excessive absences may disqualify a Recruit from graduation.
What happens after graduation?	The Recruit can now claim the title of Young Marine Joins the rest of the unit on year round fun & challenging activities
What do the parents provide?	100% Participation in Fund Raising efforts Support for the unit as a whole (we welcome suggestions) Uniform for Boot Camp only: Grey Sweat Suit White crew neck t-shirt (without writing) White socks Running shoes Composition book w/pin or pencil A MOTIVATED recruit
What parts of the uniform is supplied by the unit?	Included with registration fees:  Red National T-shirt  Guidebook Young Marine Patches Cover (hat) Khaki Belt Boot Blouses Upon payment of applicable costs the unit will place an order for:  Full cammie uniform** Black jungle boots** Green Unit T-Shirt  Blue Unit sweat suit  Cammie Shorts  Black Unit Jacket Cammie Duffle Bag Book Cover Unit ID Card  All uniforms must be ordered through the unit. **Items needed before graduation from Boot Camp
Where & when do you meet?	Every Wednesday (6:30PM - 8:30PM) Army Reserve Center 5550 Dower House Rd Upper Marlboro, MD
Are all the staff Marines?	NO While some of the staff come from various Armed Forces, all are UNPAID VOLUNTEERS from various professions throughout our community.
